Reflecting on 2023: A Year in Review
2023 proved to be an eventful year for Daupler. We are thankful for the growth of teams, products and customers this year, and want to share a few highlights from our team, our clients, and our operations.
In February, employees spanning the United States converged for a team summit in Kansas City. For many, it marked the first face-to-face meeting- fostering collaboration, team-building activities, and the alignment of priorities for the year ahead. We also discovered who could design the strongest spaghetti noodle structures (John Bertrand) and throw an axe with impressive accuracy (Paul Cowan).
We’ve come a long way from two guys and an idea in 2016. In 2023, we continued to expand our product, client success, sales, and marketing teams (and we’re still hiring!). As we grow, we continue to focus on a culture that emphasizes respect, accountability, attention to detail, family, and fun.
Throughout the year, our clients worked hard, successfully resolving hundreds of thousands of incidents ranging from water main breaks and power outages to billing issues and sprinkler malfunctions. Their customers uploaded tens of thousands of pictures and notes, providing crucial information that empowered responders to understand and address problems efficiently.

Our Marketing team also traveled to Ottawa, KS and Hereford, TX to record customer stories, adding to our video catalogue. Ottawa Municipal Utilities discussed the benefits of streamlining their utility locates with Daupler and utilizing Daupler with multiple utilities. Deaf Smith Electric Coop in Hereford compared and contrasted Daupler to a typical utility call center. We're still publishing videos from those visits. Our dedicated teams crisscrossed the country and even ventured across the pond to Scotland and Sweden, attending conferences, visiting clients, and meeting with potential partners. Representatives from Sales, Client Success, and Marketing traversed 21 different states, making connections and fostering collaboration. One highlight: winning best presentation at Smart Water Summit this year!
Our Engineering and Product teams were also hard at work, creating solutions to meet customer needs. One of our new features from 2023 allows customers to respond to mass notifications, which are filtered through Daupler AI to bring helpful information to responders. We also launched a new Inflow and Infiltration Program and Contractor Management tool (more to come in 2024!) and took our AI/ML capabilities to the next level.
We’re looking forward to 2024 and the new products, faces, and customers that it will bring. It has been an absolute honor and pleasure to serve the diverse and dynamic individuals and organizations that make up our business.
